Job Summary:

The PATHH Guides of Boulder Crest Virginia, a Posttraumatic Growth Academy that is part of the Boulder Crest Foundation, are responsible to the Program Director for the planning, preparation, coordination, and delivery of PATHH programs focused on cultivating and facilitating Posttraumatic Growth for combat veterans and their family members, and first responders who are struggling with PTSD, combat stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidality. Through intensive and immersive training, PATHH Guides enable participants to transform times of deep struggle into profound strength and lifelong growth, and live the great lives they deserve full of passion, purpose, growth, and service.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Participate in all Warrior PATHH programs (estimate: 1 per month), which may require staying at the facility for four to six days during programs depending on travel distance from home. Participate in 2 Family PATHH programs during Summer months, and 2-3 Songwritingwith:Soldiers PATHH programs.
  • Become trained, certified and proficient as a PATHH Guide, working diligently through the PATHH Guide Continuum, and accompanying activities, including kayaking, hiking, archery, equine activities, TRX, and module delivery
  • Participate in all Boulder Crest training programs as well as professional development
  • Assist the Recreation/Equine Coordinator during programs in caring of equipment and horses
  • Ensure quality reception, support, service, and experience for all program participants at Boulder Crest Virginia
  • Perform functional duties as assigned ' this includes but is not limited to recruiting for PATHH programs, support with survey collection, alumni outreach, the PATHH Facebook Group, and myPATHH learning management system
  • Ensure participant information is added to alumni database to maintain contact through 18-month program
  • Develop content for myPATHH technology application and support students along their PATHH journey.
  • Participate in community relations events as needed to deliver world-class programming at Boulder Crest Virginia.
  • Participate in all Program, Staff and Management meetings as scheduled
  • Live Boulder Crest Foundation and PATHH Guide non-negotiable practices and principles at all times
  • Assists property manager with general facility maintenance as schedule allows and need arises.

Minimum requirements

The PATHH Guide must be a combat veteran or first responder and possess an education and professional background commensurate with this position. The PATHH Guide will typically have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or have served in military or first responder leadership positions with 6-10 years (plus) experience. Due to the nature of our work, all employees of Boulder Crest are required to be fully-vaccinated for COVID-19.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, PATHH Guides are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear. The position also requires spending a lot of time outdoors. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel

PATHH Guides must be able to travel to get back and forth to work and run errands in and around Bluemont, VA (within 100 miles). A driver's license and a good driving record are required to use company vehicles.

The work environment is a small, busy facility located in Bluemont, VA. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations in the work environment may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
